Articleship in CA: What Students Don’t Know Before Joining

CA Articleship is a mandatory phase of every Chartered Accountant student’s journey. Students can apply their knowledge in a professional environment by gaining practical exposure to real-world auditing, taxation, compliance, and client handling. It acts as a bridge between textbooks and the actual world.

Articleship in CA is also known as ICAI (Institute of Chartered Accountants of India) articleship training or CA practical training. It is an essential training program that acts as a backbone for the Chartered Accountancy profession in India.  In this, students will work under a practicing Chartered Accountant and learn the key professional skills that go beyond the classroom.

Throughout the articleship, students will gain hands-on experience in fields such as auditing, taxation, accounting, and compliance. This ensures that the CS students can seamlessly transform into professionals with both theoretical and practical knowledge. The word ‘articles’ refers to students undergoing practical training. By working with the CA firm, the articles understand the expectations and demands of the CA profession.
